On this site, you can select birds from all over the world by species and by family. You can choose between English names or Latin names. (There isn’t a picture of every bird, so you can also choose to filter by birds with or without picture).

When you’re signed in, you can also register the birds you have spotted, in which year you spotted them and in which country. You can also get an overview of all the birds you saw in a particular year or country. (When you want to see all of your spotted birds, choose year <does not apply>) You can also choose a third language you can search in your chosen language. (below a list of available languages)

See below an example of the registration of two spots. The Black-tailed Godwit -the national bird of the Netherlands- spotted for the first time in 2000 and spotted in the current year, both times in the Netherlands. The House Sparrow -a common bird all over the world- spotted for the first time in 2005 in Belgium, not yet spotted in the current year.

Met deze internetpagina kun je alle vogels van de wereld vinden. Via een filter kun je specifiek op zoek naar jouw vogel. Van sommige vogels is ook het geluid beschikbaar.

Wanneer je jezelf registreert kun je je eigen gespotte vogels registreren: Je kunt aangeven in welk jaar je de vogels hebt gespot en in welk land. Verder kun je zien welke vogels je in een bepaald jaar hebt gespot, en eventueel per land. (Wil je alleen maar registreren dat je een vogel ooit hebt gespot dan vul je bij jaar <niet van toepassing> in). Tevens kunt je bij registratie extra talen kiezen die je onder de foto wilt zien en kun je met die gekozen taal zoeken. Hieronder kun je kijken welke talen er beschikbaar zijn.

Hieronder zie je een voorbeeld van een registratie van de grutto -de nationale vogel van Nederland- en huismus -een veel voorkomende vogel in de wereld-. De grutto heb je voor het eerst gespot in 2000 in Nederland en heb je ook in dit jaar gespot, óók in Nederland. De huismus heb je voor het eerst gespot in 2005 in België en in dit jaar nog niet.
